Mock Digital Media Kit
A peek into my life at S.I. Newhouse School Of Public Communications
On this page you can find a public relations project I created in the Fall 2023 academic semester. Please scroll to the bottom to take a look at a few examples of social media mockups I have created for the client.
Please note: The following information is not intended to be factual but they are parts of assignments completed at S.I. Newhouse School Of Public Communications, Syracuse University, in PRL 608: Public Relations Writing. All information is intended to be sourced appropriately.
Human Rights Watch Symposium - Digital Media Kit
I conceptualized and organized a compelling mock symposium for the organization Human Rights Watch (HRW) in my Public Relations Writing class. I diligently crafted a comprehensive digital media kit aimed at amplifying the HRW’s message and mission. The media kit includes the event fact sheet, press release, key messages, audience persona, media list and pitch, media alert, sample promotional social media posts, infographic, and a press pass.
Human Rights Watch Symposium - Fact Sheet
This piece provides key insight into the who, what, when and where concerning the mock Human Rights Watch symposium. This fact sheet would be released to provide concise information and details about the symposium, and who the partner organizations are, to accompany the event’s news release.
Human Rights Watch Symposium - Press Release
This is a mock press release that shares the news of Human Rights Watch hosting their “Call to Action for Global Responsibility” symposium. This mock release provides background information about the event, including panel themes and speakers, and how executive leadership in host organizations feel about the event.
Human Rights Watch Symposium - Key Messages/Talking Points
This assignment is a prepared list of talking points for a mock media briefing about the Human Rights Watch Symposium. This is prepared for anyone in the partnering organizations who discuss the event. At the end there is a prepared Q&A section.
Human Rights Watch Symposium - Audience Persona
This audience persona was created by analyzing and researching key publics that are directly related to the symposium’s theme: a call to action to prioritize global human rights infringements. Brandwatch and MuckRack were utilized during this process. The audience persona identifies the demographics, skills, and media habits.
Human Rights Watch Symposium - Media List and Pitch
This media list and mock media pitch were created to pitch the event story to a specific reporter at a relevant media outlet. The mock pitch was created with the intention of inviting said reporter to write about Human Rights Watch and their symposium.
Human Rights Watch Symposium - Media Advisory/Alert
This mock media advisory was created to announce Human Rights Watch’s symposium to necessary media personnel and offer them the opportunity to attend and obtain coverage of the event. It also highlights partner organizations Al Jazeera and Equality Now.
